Dogs really do make the best friends.
Fall is slow about coming in to this part of Texas, like a child hiding behind a mother’s leg, too shy to make a new friend.
When fall finally does arrive, it blows through like a bullet train,
stopping only for a moment and leaving behind a damp, cold winter.
Watching the sun rise can fill a person with hope.
Watching the sun set can fill a person with gratitude.
Silence — some folks are terrified of it while others embrace it.
